Our focus goes beyond memorising grammar rules. Depending on the learner's age and level, children work towards developing practical English skills that they can use inside and outside the classroom.
Speaking: Expressing ideas, answering questions and participating in conversations.
Listening: Understanding spoken English in increasingly varied situations.
Reading: Understanding texts and developing reading strategies appropriate to their level.
Writing: Expressing ideas clearly through age-appropriate written English.
Vocabulary: Building useful vocabulary and learning how to use it in context.
Grammar: Developing accuracy through meaningful language use.
Pronunciation: Developing clearer and more intelligible pronunciation.

We want children to move beyond: "I know the answer." towards: "I can explain it."
Beyond: "I know this word." towards: "I can use this word."
And beyond: "I studied this English." towards: "I can use English."
That is the difference between learning about a language and developing the ability to use it.

Progression should mean more than completing lessons. It should mean that a learner can do more with English than they could before.

If your child understands English but rarely speaks it, struggles to form sentences independently, depends heavily on memorised answers, hesitates when speaking or lacks confidence communicating in English, it may be time to look beyond marks.
Your child may also need additional support if they find English reading or writing difficult or perform well in written exercises but struggle with actual communication.
Instead of asking only: "What marks did my child get?"
ask: "What can my child actually do with English?"
